Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Coming from Wellesley, the courses were significantly less demanding in terms of hours in class as well as time spent preparing outside the classroom.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Edinburgh is such an incredible city it was a fantastic opportunity.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

We were housed through the University with flats of other exchange students, transfers, and first year students.

* Food:

<3 scottish food

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

It took a few weeks but then I fell in love.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

They do have NHS for free health care, but when I did go to the hospital it took far too long to actually see a doctor.

* Safety:

I ALWAYS felt safe in Edinburgh, regardless of the time of day or night.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100/week
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Buy groceries in bulk so you don't waste money buying groceries everyday! Also my friends and I started doing a potluck every week to make sure we actually ate a full meal at least once a week.
