University of East Anglia: Norwich - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Norwich was amazing and the people I meet at UEA were all so incredibly nice and welcoming. I had a good deal of trouble with the UEA administration in the beginning but overall I enjoyed the classroom experience as well. Fantastic place to study abroad.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Professors were very knowledgeable and when there were assignments they were challenging. But you only had 1-3 assignments over the course of the whole semester per class and some of them could be completed without having to attend the classes.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Changing your classes at UEA was awful. They made us wait in line for 2 hrs and then told us all to come back tomorrow since we were done for the day. Also I was in the school for biological sciences and none of the relevant courses had any space. Luckily there was finally someone who helped me get the classes I needed but that was after a lot of stress. Make sure your classes are sorted out beforehand!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I loved the flats! I lived in University Village where I had a room and bathroom to myself and shared a kitchen with 7 other university students. Quite a trek from campus but the room were new and clean and overall really nice.

* Food:

Made my own food in the flat but the food I did have on campus was fine. Hours for the on campus store were very odd though.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Great! Everyone I meet was amazing

N/A

* Safety:

Always felt very safe!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 60
