Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload is manageable, however the number of hours spent in the classroom is a bit excessive. Part of the study broad experience is actual traveling, and with a 12pm-7pm M-F schedule, it is kind of hard to do.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The staff is amazing at the UC Florence Study Center. The housing director, Daniella, and the program advisor, Michelangelo, are two that stood out to me for the good relationships with the students.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

Yellow Bar in Florence is amazing! However, try and cook at home. It saves a lot of money.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The trip to Siena, amazing!! Also, a farewell dinner at a beautiful villa in Florence.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Never had any safety issues.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

I had to use Italian everywhere, which made it far easier to learn than in a classroom back at Riverside.
