What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Yes! I loved study abroad, but the only downside is the expenses! Plan way ahead and make sure you have enough money! I hope I can teach abroad someday!

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Amazing teachers and program directors! Couldn't have asked for better people to be involved with!

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The people that we came in contact with through our program were absolutely amazing. I honestly think our program directors Mary and Zoe as well as our teachers Kate and Dave really made the trip better than I had ever imagined. They were so welcoming and helpful with anything. They were like our friends when we needed them but our parents when we needed that too! They were definitely one of the best parts of the program! The only thing I wasn't a fan of was having to take a 30 minute bus ride to get ANYWHERE! It worked out, but I guess it's just not ideal when you only have a few weeks in one area.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

It was great, it came with everything we needed and having a kitchen really helped on saving money, we were able to make food instead of eat out every meal! It was far from anything other than class, which sucked, but worked out eventually.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I wish we could have had a planned trip to another country, but everything we had planned by the program was awesome!

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Brighton seemed to be a very safe community and I know if we had gotten sick, our program directors would have been right there to help anyway they could!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Most of your money will go to public transportation and food. Think about how much you think you will spend and add a good 100 pounds to that, it may be closer to what you will actually spend.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Public transportation adds up quickly, as well as food! You don't plan to spend much, it just happens!

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Direct Enrollment/Exchange

* Did you study abroad through an exchange program or did you directly enroll in the foreign university? Direct Enrollment

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? When buying food, buy the cheapest items you see, and don't look for brand names you're used to, you probably won't find most of them! Great program I would definitely recommend it!
