Amazing friends, lots of travelling, Irish pubs, and rugby! Past Review

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained a lot of independence, especially in being able to travel from place to place whether it be to another city in Ireland or to another country in Europe. I also was able to learn about Europe, European history, and how other countries accomplish things (for example, I took an Irish Health Policy course). I was able to make connections with people from around the world. It was definitely worthwhile!

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The program was not very challenging academically because of the educational system used in Ireland, but there were very good resources available (i.e. the library) and I definitely enjoyed my classes and learned a lot through them even though they were not necessarily challenging.

* Safety:

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? About $80 a week, but more when I traveled on the weekends.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? I kept a list with everything I spent my money on and added it up at the end of each week. I also created a weekly budget and a travel budget for myself.
