  • Accommodation was nice
  • Wide range of courses for selection
  • Great location in Beijing
* What could be improved?
  • Food at the school
  • More administrative guidance from the hosting instituion
  • Not enough discussion in classes
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? The grading and evaluation system in China is very different from that in the U.S. in that your grade often depend on one or two exams. And there are not a lot of resources available in preparing for them. Also, accommodation for special request and time conflict is usually not granted. Definitely keep in mind that you might have to work harder than you anticipated to achieve an ideal grade.

Individual Course Reviews

Course Name/Rating:

Hot Issues of International Law

Course Department: School of Law
Instructor: Prof. Li, Zhaojie
Instruction Language: English
Comments: Very interesting course that is discussion based, which is relatively rare at Tsinghua. Enjoyed the opportunity to discuss issues related to international law with the professor and my peers. It was a valuable course in terms of providing me with the Chinese perspective on a variety of international issues.
Credit Transfer Issues: Count as a liberal art course. Will give you general credit at Midd.
