This program is set in Paris, one of the great cultural and intellectual centers of Europe.  Embracing a metropolitan area of 10.5 million, Paris provides a vibrant and stimulating location for students.  The program, which is set in the desirable St. Germain des Prés district on the Left Bank of Paris, is designed to accommodate students of all majors and at all levels of French.  Courses are offered in English in Art History, History, Political Science, International Studies, American Studies, English, Sociology, and Music.  A course in Economics is also in development.  Students with advanced French language skills can take advanced literature courses offered by the program in French, as well as regular university courses at the Institut Catholique de Paris (ICP).  ICP is a private university that has a wide array of course offerings, especially in the Humanities, Education, and Social Sciences.  French majors and minors are required to live with French families to further their language immersion.  Other students can choose between a homestay and an apartment (shared or singles); all housing is located in Central Paris.  Students on the program are required to take a French language course at the appropriate level and a core course on French Culture and Society.  In addition, there is a French language exchange that all students participate in with French university students.  An excursion to Normandy, the Loire Valley, or other place of interest in included, as well as shorter excursions to other areas throughout Paris and the region.  Students also have a break in which they can plan additional travel.  The Trinity-in-Paris Global Site offers students strong academic support, cultural activities, and a thorough orientation program.
