What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I gained a new found respect for my enormous privilege as an American citizen at the same time as I gained awareness of how little I know of the world. My eyes were opened to cultural differences I could never have anticipated--everything from the way shopping works to how music sounds to how history is understood and communicated. Dance acted as a perfect point of common reference with local people, and it's a skill I've taken back to my own program in the U.S.

Reasons For Studying Abroad

The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
