Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 6 months+

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

It was great! Two books to read pre-trip and an paper after the trip.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Very little language barrier, very nice instructors.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Big 10 + people dorm, no sheets (it was hot, no need for them). Older students and girls got a 2 people room. Super safe, village in the middle of nowhere.

* Food:

A little repetitive, but good, healthy and nutritious.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We attended a funeral which was unbelievable, and the market was just like being in one of those National Geographic shows.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Make sure you get all the vaccines and malaria medication. You will need to get health insurance because you don't want to go to a hospital in Ghana!

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

A Look Back

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Very authentic, not the most comfortable, but then again, you are in Africa. Would totally recommend for anyone!
