What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned how to be more independent and it gave me the opportunity to appreciate experiences and places rather than things. I think it also made me appreciate Middlebury so much more.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Its really hard to make Australian friends since school is kind of a background thing for them with most of them working full time.

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I would love to go back to Sydney. I wish there was smaller school to enroll in as I often felt very overwhelmed at UNSW, but the dates and everything else were best at UNSW.

Finances

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

  • The place I was in
* What could be improved?
  • The grading system
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I knew more about the different grading that would take place abroad. Getting good grades proved to be very difficult since Australians have a much different grading system. Also, it was very difficult when most other schools were pass fail.
