Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I went through a very intense educational experience in how the day to day working life works. This gave me great experience that I will take with me and build on in the future. Doing this internship in Hong Kong broadened my horizons greatly regarding the way businesses run, the was businesses can start and develop and the great variety of cultures that I came across here also gave me a wider and sharper image of international businesses.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The administration made everything very easy, keeping on top of everything and making sure everything is done in the right way by providing me with the relevant and important information.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Good location, makes it easy to socialise and quality of the flats and rooms reach expectations.

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Amazing. The programme really helped with learning about the culture, the way they think, they way they live and any other random questions that came up. My work colleagues were also very useful with this, teaching me about the way business is done with local people in Hong Kong and all over China, and how it differs from the Western world.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Healthcare system was good with doctors being useful, relevant and most importantly english speaking. The programme assisted in explaining where the nearest doctors are, and when necessary where the more qualified and experienced doctors were, depending on the severity of my illness, which was necessary at one point.

* Safety:

All very safe, didn't have any issues whatsoever.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

They provide great assistance in anything, including sightseeing, local information. They also provide consistent events which makes socializing and meeting people effortless.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Hong Kong is a very expensive city. Can live cheap on food but personal expenses and nightlife can easily push you over budget before you even notice.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I tried to keep to £300 but was generally unsuccesful
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Don't drink alcohol :)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

When it was asked of them they were extremely useful in teaching words, pronunciations and offered classes at the beginning of the programme .

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? Beginner
