What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?

Going into The GREEN Program Iceland experience, I had a relatively small interest in renewable and sustainably energy. This topic was something I thought was fascinating, but I had very little knowledge of. Upon completing the program, I learned leaps and bounds more about clean and renewable energy, gained a whole new respect for the Earth, experienced a completely different perspective on life, and reinforced my dreams for the future. Every aspect of the trip, from academics, to the locations visited, to the people you spend every second of the day with, was incredibly worthwhile.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?	Guided tours of power plants are extremely fun while also being very informative Locations visited are NOT tourist attractions (This is a good thing!). There are no signs to tell you you've arrived! I felt as if we had our own private tour of Iceland and experienced breathtaking locations that most visitors would never even be able to find. The members of the GREEN team and the other students that you share this experience with become more than just friends by the end of the trip.
* What could be improved?	The cost is kind of high, but everything went flawlessly. We always had a place prepared for us to stay after a long day, food every morning, afternoon, and night, transportation, etc.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program?	I wish I knew how to pack properly for an experience like this. I packed too many casual clothes and not enough activewear for all the hikes and caves and exploring that we did,
