Learned how to live in a different country and be completely self sufficient for everything in my life.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Some classes are hard, some are not. 85% are not even close to the TCU Level of rigor. I would not worry about having too much school work at all over the trip.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

TCU is going to make sure you are safe. Even if you are a sorority girl who has no idea what she is doing.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

The living arrangements were nice and nothing more nothing less. You shouldnt be in your room anyways and also TCU makes sure you are in a good safe part of the city.

* Food:

None so get used to getting dominoes pizza and mcdonalds

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

If you make the effort to get to know your classmates you will feel more included. However most TCU students stick together because there are generally so many of us. So finding a friend group or making friends with your classmates is the best way to feel integrated. But it will take effort.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Any other country's healthcare > United States health care. Like I said TCU isnt going to let you get hurt.

* Safety:

London is safe so long as you are not a complete idiot when going out at night. You will stay in a good part of town and be around a ton of other TCU students most of the time.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Your London experience will be better than anything you do at TCU in your time there. You will get to travel to many different countries, have fun experiences, and make friends for a lifetime.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

London is expensive. No way around that. Where you save money though is when traveling. Fly budget airlines, take that 5am flight instead of the 12pm one, do not go out every night unlike most of your TCU classmates, pre game, etc. Its all in the little things and you can make it work so long as you are not stupid with your money.

A Look Back

* What did you like most about the program?
  • London has cheap flights to everywhere
  • London is better than any other TCU program
  • The university classes are a joke so you get to focus on actually having fun and traveling.
* What could be improved?
  • TCU students only hang with each other
  • Its freaking expensive
  • My room was a frat house but lol that was still kinda fun
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Save extra money for travel at the end. You basically stop school in the middle of April and dont go home till the end of May. You can do some awesome trips in that time.

The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
