The University of Tasmania has two main campuses, one in the capital city of Hobart and the other in the northern city of Launceston. The university enjoys an excellent reputation for its school of art, which includes many areas of art and design study. In addition, there is strong community support for both local and international theater, film, fine arts and crafts exhibitions, and musical entertainment. UTAS is also known for its courses in the biological and environmental sciences, music and engineering. The natural environment of Tasmania influences all and makes UTAS a university with unique links for students to experience world heritage environments within a culturally diverse community. Please note that Semester 1 at UTAS is typically from February-June and Semester 2 is from July-November. For additional information about this university, please visit the UTAS website.
