SUNY New Paltz: Prague - Study Abroad at Charles University

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I have a much more worldly view and see how other countries perceive America as well as cultural and social stigmas as a whole.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Overall the Administration is great, except for the main administrator Jitka.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Kolej Komenskeho Dorm

Dorm was a bit run down but had a great location.

* Food:

Great food, great prices.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Prague is one of the most beautiful and action-filled cities in the world.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Health issues weren't really addressed but I did feel safe the entire time in Prague.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Be wary of restaurants that charge you just for sitting down at a table. Always ask about something on the bill that you don't understand.

Language

Language acquisition improvement?
