Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Learned a lot while not being having pressured to.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Very slow responses to housing problems, no email system or announcements

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Shared a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with 5 other girls. It got very messy!

I lived too far from the school to walk and too far from other students.

* Food:

Delicious pasta dishes!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

If the school had a dorm building, more people from the school would know each other. They had some parties for the school but few people went.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Safe neighborhood and on site doctor.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Toiletries and school supplies are very expensive! Bring your own!

Language

Language acquisition improvement?

Learned so much Italian because no one in my neighborhood wanted to speak English.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Do it! It's a great experience. I went with a close friend and we had a great time but having her made it easier.
