SUNY Binghamton: New Delhi - Technology, Economy, and Society in India

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was one of the best experiences I've had while in college. I learned so much about the culture/people of the country, the devlopment of India, emerging markets, but most importantly had a great time experiencing a country I may necessarily have never went to. Everyone was so friendly and we accomplished so much I wouldnt trade my time there for anything.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I learned so much over the course of this whole process, before, during, and .

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Professor Gupta was obviously knowledgeable about the country and all of the places we visited. He communicated this in an easy to follow and understand way as we toured the different places and saw the different sites. The amount of people in the program was a good numer and my expectations were more than met.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Hotel

The hotel was comfortable and provided everything we needed to be comfortable.

* Food:

It was very different from anything I had eaten before but I enjoyed the food. i didn't even mind not eating meat while there.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I made alot of great friends on the trip and the students at LPU provided us with a lot of fun things to do once our company visits were over. Hanging out with them while we listened to their music was a great experience.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I never felt really felt unsafe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Besides the cost of the program I spent around $200 while there.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Since meals are included the unanticipated expenses are usually the things you would wish to purchase on the streets or at the bazaar. Everything is relatively cheap.

Language

Language acquisition improvement?
