Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

We did not study in India, we studied about India in America, and then visited India and applied our learning. It was very educational and fun, while the work load was manageable, it was also challenging. The American professors were very knowledgeable and interested in our trip.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The professors were very knowledgeable and did a great job of guiding us throughout India and applying our knowlede that we acquired before coming.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Hotel

We stayed in a hotel for two weeks, and it was not like an American hotel. It was quite different and took some getting used to, but they tried to accomodate us as much as possible.

* Food:

It was very different than American food and hard to find things I enjoyed.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

We saw a lot of tourist places and were able to really see a lot of India and go into non tourist parts as well which was great to see.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

The professors made us feel very safe and comfortable.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $100. 1 UDS=46 rupees, so a little money went a long way. I spent 100 in 12 days.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Never buy the first price at the market, give them less than half always!
