What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned about Korean language, food, etiquette, music, social life, and other aspects of the culture. Also, I gained exposure to the sights and sounds of Seoul and various tourist sites, all of which were made conveniently accessible via subway. Not only did I gain a network of Korean friends who can help me experience what Korea has to offer in the future, but I also gained a network of international friends who I can enjoy spending time with when I travel to various countries. Considering the wealth of knowledge and experience that I gained, in addition to the long-lasting relationships that I have developed, I believe that my study abroad experience was very much worthwhile.

Yes
South Korea has a wonderful transportation system that allows me to explore the country and immerse myself in the culture. Studying at Sungkyunkwan University allowed me to receive a quality education while experiencing life abroad. |

| * What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? | I wish I knew the benefit of being able to communicate in the native language to its fullest extent. It would have enhanced my experience significantly. I know now that having a network of local friends is even more beneficial than just being able to get around on my own. They could alert me about campus events, take me to high-quality local restaurants and stores, and help me take advantage of special deals and events. |
