I definitely learned that I want to live in the MENA region after graduation, and that is what made this experience worthwhile.

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
The rigor is the same that you would find at any college or university in the US, but the professors are very kind and want to connect and support you. |

The administration for international students was very disorganized, which contributed to a lot of stress and anxiety for students, especially at the time when we first arrived in Egypt. |

* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I was very satisfied! I connected very well with my roommates who came from all different parts of the world. The apartment itself was very nice. |

The lack of dining halls and meal plans definitely was difficult to adjust to. The places to eat on campus that were provided were really good though, it was just that we had to pay for it. |

How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I felt pretty integrated, especially since the local students are open to connecting with international students. |

* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
I didn't have any health issues, but if I did the school provides you with international insurance and there is also a health clinic on campus. |

Since I was a woman walking around Cairo, at first I felt uneasy being alone but once you get comfortable with the city it gets better. |
| If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |

I was able to not only live comfortably in Egypt but also travel to other countries with my student budget. |

| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | I saved about $100-200 a week during the summer and it gave me more than enough to get by, especially if you live on campus. |

I was definitely encouraged to go out and immerse myself, to try to use the language to get by while in the city. |

| Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? | Definitely take an Arabic class or colloquial Arabic class! It will help if you have no background in Arabic while you are outside of the campus. |
