Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

I felt that I was given the right amount of workload. I was able to easily balance studying and immersing myself in the cultural activities. The grading system was relatively the same, but on a numeral scale rather than in letters. Unlike the Spanish classes I have taken in the U.S., no textbooks were issued and we only did a few activities in the workbook that was given to us along with other essays, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

I could not have asked for a better program to go with. The director took care of my every needs/was available all the time and the variety of activities that my group was able to do was amazing.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Recoleta was a great neighborhood to stay in. Even though I didn't get to know my host family that well, I enjoyed living where I did simply because of the location.

* Food:

Make sure to reiterate your host family if you are vegetarian! However, there was no shortage of vegetarian options.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The most amazing excursion I went on was to Iguazu Falls. It was an absolutely gorgeous trip and well worth the long bus ride.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Just make sure to be aware at all times! Pickpocketing is prevalent, especially in the subway system.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
Language acquisition improvement?

I was able to practice and use my Spanish everyday while in Buenos Aires. I spoke in Spanish with my friends from the university along with the locals. So, I was a able to develop my Spanish skills a lot. Most people do not know English in there.

If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
