BEST Experience!!! Past Review
By A student (Santa Reparata International School of Art) - abroad from 06/01/2011 to 07/01/2014 with
Study Abroad at SRISA: Accredited Semester - Fine Arts, Liberal Arts and Design
There are so many things I learned about art, Italian culture, history, architecture, and the list could go on and on. It was defiantly worthwhile. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to go and that I went through this program.

Review Your Program
* Overall educational experience
Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc. |
I learned a great deal about printmaking. It was an awesome experience to explore a new medium in art making while being immersed in the beautiful Italian culture. |
* Host Country Program Administration
On-site administration of your program |
Very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. |
* Housing:
How satisfied were you with your living arrangements? |
I loved that my apartment was so close to the school, great restaurants and museums. |
* Food: |
WONDERFUL! I have been to other countries in Europe and Italy definitely has the best food. |
* Social & Cultural Integration:
How integrated did you feel with the local culture? |
I tried to speak Spanish as I was told it is very close to Italian but it didn't work out all that well. I would recommend learning some commonly used words and phrases BEFORE you go. |
* Health Care:
How well were health issues addressed during the program? |
|
* Safety: |
I felt very safe even when I was walking by myself during the day and evening. At night I was always with at least one other person and we never had any issues. |
If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? |
Yes
|
Finances
* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?
(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost) |
If you eat out several times a week it can get a little expensive but if you are able to cook meals at home that can really help. I loved going to the grocery store and learning how to cook with real Italian ingredients and brands. |
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? | $150 |
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Make sure you have a back up account with money. |
