Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Tanya was a good person to work with. She understood your problems and really tried to help. But sometimes she did not know what she was doing because she was also just learning her job.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

It was close enough that you could walk to all your classes and I like how I had my own room but also shared the kitchen with other people so I had the opportunity to get to know them as well.

* Food:

The food was excellent pretty much everywhere you went.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

I really enjoyed meeting people from all over the world. I made some really great friends and would love to go back. Going on hikes was always amazing and the world cup will be one to never forget.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt very safe except for when I was walking alone at night even through the dorm halls. They did not really care much about your health you never really had to get a prescription for anything.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? I spent around 400 rands each week.
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Be prepared to have money for extra outings and to do anything social.

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? None
