About

If you like fast-paced modern cities, a study-tour to Berlin may be something for you. Berlin is a city that invented and re-invented itself in response to the dramas and traumas of the 20th/21th century. The study-tour is embedded in a course on Berlin (ILCT 302) that will be offered in the spring of 2014. The study-tour itself (from March 13 to March 23) counts for half of the classtime. Before spring break, you will study the history of Berlin from the late 19th to the beginning of the 21st century. You will learn how to 'read' a city and design a mini scholarly or creative project that will include a certain amount of fieldwork in Berlin. After your return home, you will write a reflective essay, complete the project and present it publicly.
