Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Our resources in Alnwick were so helpful and they really helped us really experience the community and country around us.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

The professors, both British and american, were very informed about their field of study and sometimes I learned so much both within the classroom and outside of it.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

We lived in a CASTLE. It was AMAZING!!!!

* Food:

The food was both a combination of traditional British food and our "usual" American food.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

The town was very close to the castle and very accessible. I felt very comfortable walking around town and I wasn't afraid to explore by myself.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I personally didn't have an experience where I needed healthcare but a few other people did and they seemed to find healthcare easily accessible.

* Safety:

I felt very secure walking around the town by myself and the castle entrance had guards stationed at the entrance all through out the day and night. They kept record or who was inside the castle after visiting hours.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

* Was housing included in your program cost? Yes
* Was food included in your program cost? Yes
Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $40
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Don't go overboard on buying stuff (gifts/souvenirs) during the first couple weeks. Think about where you want your money to go. You should think about if you want to go on any weekend trips and where you want to go for the week break.
