St. Catherine's College, University of Oxford - Visiting Students Program

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
To accept and try more new things. To do the thing you really like instead of being afraid to try and thinking too much about gain and loss.

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 6 months+

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

It is an awesome experience. 3/4 of my courses are great, and I enjoy them a lot. The only class I'm not very satisfy with is fine.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

She is very helpful in person, and will always care about your feedback.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Housing is great. The only thing I don't like is that the heater in my room does not work very well.

* Food:

I don't like the food so much. It is not very healthy and diverse. Also, the providing time is really short and not very convenient.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Love it. People here are more pure and enjoy what they are doing a lot. They are searching for their true interest instead of being very ambitious on mostly something that is popular.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I don't really use the healthcare system here.

* Safety:

It is really safe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

It offers me a brand new perspective and reshape my value and goal towards near future.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? probably 200$ per week on average but varies each week
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Cooking yourself save lots of money

Reasons For Studying Abroad

To help future students find programs attended by like-minded individuals, please choose the profile that most closely represents you.
The Avid Adventurer
The wardrobe you packed was better suited for a semester of camping than club hopping. Outdoorsy, you might forgo a crazy night out for an early all-day adventure. You'd rather take in the rich culture of an old town than the metropolis of a modern city, but for you getting off the grid is ideal.
