Spelman College: Atlanta - Domestic Exchange for Visiting Students

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
Exchanging to a historically Black school was great because it exposed me to courses that I otherwise wouldn't be able to experience at my home school.

* What did you like most about the program?
  • The courses
  • Academic environment
  • the professors
* What could be improved?
  • communication between host and home schools
  • Certainty of whether courses would transfer as a whole credit.
  • I find it a little pretentious of Wellesley to not guarantee a whole credit through this domestic exchange program, especially since it is a program that has existed since the 1960s. I know it's not Wellesley's intention, but it gives the appearance that the home school doesn't value HBCUs.
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? I wish I would've known the difficulty of interacting with the administrations of both host and home schools.
