Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

My advisers were available 24/7.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

My host parents were so welcoming and nice. They did so much for me and my roommate who is now one of my lifetime friends!

* Food:

It took a little time adjusting to the cultural food but after a few weeks, I loved every meal that my host mom made my roommate and I.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

Being Hispanic, I felt like I really fit in with the city that I was staying in and the locals that I was surrounded by.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I didn't have any experience with healthcare but I know that if I had a problem, it was paid for by my program.

* Safety:

Granada has such a low crime rate. I've walked home alone plenty of times and not once did I feel scared of unsafe.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Sol Education is a very affordable program that has amazing locations, great schools, and very fun and educational excursions that I enjoyed so much!

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Living with a host family saved me a lot of money because I didn't have to spend money on food or an apartment so all of my money went to traveling which was extremely cheap in Europe.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Less than $30 a week

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

Very frequently, especially since our host parents don't speak any English, you are forced to use your Spanish.

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Advanced
How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? Fluent
