I gained a lot of knowledge about Mexico and Latin American. I also learned new things about myself and strengthened my interpersonal skills as I was meeting new people nearly every day! It was definitely worthwhile and I could not recommend this program enough to anyone who is interested in living in Mexico City.

The 6-week program "Social Realities in Mexico" (May 26 - July 8) is the result of our efforts to offer meaningful study options with social impact to our international student community. During the program, you will learn about the social challenges of Latin America and Mexico, and how to engage them. Each week will be dedicated to one specific topic (Introduction - Population/Environment - Poverty/Social Security - Human Rights/Migration - Sustainable Economy). An intensive Spanish course, field visits and weekend activities complement the program, and the last week will be dedicated to a study tour to southern Mexico (Chiapas). On this fascinating trip, the group will visit some cultural, touristic and natural must-sees, get in contact with the local indigenous population, and visit NGOs that deal with the topics that were discussed throughout the program. The program counts with the quality standards of Iberoamericana University, one of Latin America's highest ranked universities.
