SIT Study Abroad: Senegal: Global Security and Religious Pluralism

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It was perhaps the best thing I've done during my entire time at college. It gave me a new perspective on a number of things, and encouraged me to explore different ways of learning, a diverse variety of materials, and completely new ideas, all while surrounding me with a supportive community and interesting students. I had a fabulous time, and would highly recommend SIT Senegal to anyone.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The program allowed me to learn in new ways, including hands on experience, arts, music, cooking, and ridiculously small classes. I felt completely academically fulfilled, challenged enough to feel stimulated but left with plenty of time for cultural exploration and synthesis on my own.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? Intermediate
Language acquisition improvement?

My French got so much stronger during this program... Great language teachers, and a mandatory homestay make speaking French unavoidable all the time.
