SIT Study Abroad: Jordan - Modernization and Social Change

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It definitely was worth while. I learned so much about Jordanian culture and values, Arab culture and vaules, about my own beliefs and values. My academic interests haven't been detered at all considering I am a Middle Eastern Studies major, but this experience has shown me that I want to go back to the Middle East and ideally work in that region after college.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload wasn't very heavy and I felt grading was quite lenient. At the same time, I got to listen to lectures and focus on subjects I know I wouldn't be able to back at my college.

* Host Country Program Administration

he staff was really great, so friendly and supportive. We really were like a tribe!

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I switched families because I wasn't satisfied with the first family or the conditions, the second family and location were amazing.

Sometimes there wouldn't be breakfast and my host mother never cooked so we usually went out for dinner or to family's house.

Everything, the trips, the Badia homestay...
