Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

In India, I would rate the country coordinator a 2.5-3. Things did not run on schedule and our time was not used efficiently. In China and South Africa, I would rate the coordinators a 4. They were very organized and the program ran very smoothly

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

I did not personally receive medical care, but those on my program that did were satisfied.

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

The cost of vacation was unexpectedly high because my assumption was that a week long vacation in India would not be around $500 USD.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Spend as little money as possible in India because Beijing is going to be expensive and the exchange rate goes from 1:50 to 1:6
