Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

We were in class a lot more that I am at my university in the US which got frustrating at times. However, we had little homework. Book art was amazing, but some of the other classes need to be reworked a bit.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

They are really great people, but some situations were not handled the best and they were a bit disorganized. They did plan a couple of fun day trips though.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I loved my host family, it was a great experience to get to live with them.

* Food:

Of course the food was amazing!

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

They planned some fun day trips to a vineyard, another hill town, and a soccer game, but they also mentioned day trips we were going to go on but they never happened.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I always felt safe in Siena.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

The host family was what really helped my Italian. I did not know any going into the program and the Italian language class was helpful but the host family really forced me to use my Italian which was good.
