About

The International Office of Shanghai University is a window of the University and bridges the University with the international community. On behalf of the University, it deals with issues related to foreign countries, Hong Kong and Macao. It is mainly responsible for the following:
1. to carry out and inform the colleges and schools of the foreign affair’s policies and regulations of the state, especially those related to the education organizations
2. to formulate and carry out the University’s foreign affairs plan and regulations
3. to coordinate all the University’s foreign affairs and offer information and service for the colleges and schools for their exchanges with the international community in the field of teaching, research and academic exchange.
4. to organize and attend the activities of visiting officials and enhance the University’s international exchange.
5. to employ foreign-languages lecturers and foreign experts and be responsible for their visas
6. to check and report to the local government the application of the international conferences hosted or co-hosted by the University
7. to deal with visa issues for Chinese staff members who will go abroad for less than 3 months
