YES!!! I loved living in France and I cannot wait to be able to return. My program led me to look into the Sciences Po-Harvard dual degree for law school.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The workload was intense but manageable and the grading system ranged from 1-20, but it was pretty clear that you, as a student, was not likely to get 18-20 especially under the french professor. The teaching method is very different from my norm, the professor do not get up from their seat, they lecture from the seat. My seminar professors were great though, they were very interactive. I loved the fact that every lecture was recorded and placed online for students who may have missed that day or just needed to return to it for exam periods. The exams weigh so heavily on your grade; there was usually only one other assignment. One other thing is that the system corrects you after, instead of explaining how it should be done before hand. I loved having classes only once a week.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

They had a lot of information about the American higher education and my expectations were very much met. However the program made you very independent; they didnt provide transportation from the airport or any representative from the school to meet you; they didn't provide housing or a school cafeteria of any sort.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I had to apply for my housing while still in the states the only difficult part was I had to have someone European to vouch for me before my arrival and provide their bank information. The housing was good because I had my own studio for a student price of 300 euros and there were other student around all the time so it gave me the dormotory feel. It was also nice because everyone didnt go to the same school, the housing was actually 20 minutes walking distance from my school.

* Food:

I loved the bakeries because the treats were so enriched with flavor.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

One religious program I went to during christmas time and we also took a trip to the region house and met some very important people for a cocktail.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

My host city was a small town of little crime.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?

Language acquisition improvement?

At my school pretty much everyone spoke English but in my everyday actions I had to use French because hardly anyone spoke English. I also practiced my French with a lot of my peers, they were more than happy to help increase my ability to speak the language.
