i've learn to live with loneliness as this is something you will have to deal with everyday. I've learned how to fight the unjust system, and not to believe anything from the salesperson's mouth

Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 1 month - 6 months

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

German food is nice. There is a good big mensa in Heidelberg that is affordable.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

You will overpay the health insurance with this school. You won't even get any proof of having a health insurance so it will be very difficult for you to get the medical help you need unless you fight and fight with the incompetent school administration to do their job.

* Safety:

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? No

I can honestly say this is the worst school ever. If you want to enroll in the master program, please do not. Not only will you waste your money, as the education level is so low, but you want to lose your patience. They are the worst, first of all. They do not work as a team and they do not know how to do it. Second, you used, mistreated, and extorted for money. The school is probably the most incompetent director of all time. You want to be tricked, you will not receive any help and you will be treated as dirt. This is the school where sexual harassment and physical attacks are tucked under the rug. Students are not taken care of. You will not get any internship opportunities or opportunities after your graduation. You always want to go on any trip and you want to deal with a bunch of issues along the way, especially with the professors. So do not confuse the picture of the school with that of a big campus. Schiller has only about 100 students, 20 of which are master students. Such low numbers are true reflection of the price / quality ratio. So Schiller exists in Heidelberg for over 50 years, yet no one in Heidelberg knows where the school is and they do not have it in their systems. They have just had problems, and they had to buy one just a few months ago. The whole system is on thin legs. Find yourself a better option. So, important to mention, Taking the credits from this school into account is the best way to get a PhD in Germany. Think about your future, do proper research. Do not waste this amount of money and make a year of your life for something so wrong!

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

For the food you will need around 150e a month, from a cheap market. Housing is really expensive, around 650e. Do not cheap to live there.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? 200
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Go to mensa, try finding an accommodation that is the cheapest (this is hard as Heidelberg is even more expensive than Frankfurt, so start a lot of months in advance)

  • getting familiar with other cultures
* What could be improved?
  • Ethics of the school
  • School administration
  • Education quality
* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? How expensive it's going to be. That the school is not accredited regionally, which means you can't transfer or take a Phd in Germany. That the school is so poorly run by incompetent people. That I will only be used for extracting money, with no real opportunities or benefits.
