This program offers international experience in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Thailand. SDSU students will engage in various cultural activities in addition to interacting with educators from local schools. Students will coordinate and implement service learning activities that will enhance their futures as elementary and middle school teachers. Additionally, participants will engage with unique aspects of the locale with an emphasis on local culture and history. These experiences are designed to be personally enriching as well as useful to their future careers as teachers. As part of this program, students will be registered for the accompanying ED 450 course. Students will engage in team-building activities, learn from student panels and speakers, complete online modules, complete research and reflection papers, and create online videos. The purpose is to prepare students for their travel abroad experience and to provide opportunities for students to grow global mindsets.
