Best 3 month of my life so far Past Review

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
It is easy to say that studying in London was one of the most exciting experiences I have ever made. I left London with mixed feelings - Saying goodbye to all of my new friends on the one hand and finally seeing family and friends from Germany again on the other hand. People were asking me what I liked the most about my time in London? First of all, there are all the wonderful people from all over the world that I have met and can call my friends now. But in times where one can see so much hate all over the world, I always noticed what kind of beautiful place London is. People from every part of the world, with different backgrounds, different religions and different cultures living side by side in peace and security. According to the London Museum, 60 percent of the people living in London were not born in London and about 40 percent have foreign backgrounds (25% percent born outside of Europe). It really makes me sick when I think of all the tragedies recently happened (Paris, Nice, Istanbul, Munich, Berlin etc.) but proofs me that choosing London as destination for my semester abroad was a great decision. Even though there also have been terroristical attacks in London, this city is just an example of how people should live together everywhere in the world. It is not something that you can realize when visiting London for a weekend or even a week. Once you are living there for a longer period of time, you get to see the quality of life that this city has to offer. London, I love you - It has been a great pleasure again! For the next time, make sure not being that expensive though.

You went abroad with specific academic goals in mind; the program credentials and rigor of your coursework abroad were very important to you. You had a great time abroad, but never lost sight of your studies and (if applicable) were diligent with your foreign language study. Good for you!
