Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Being enrolled in the IST 297C course gave me further insight into the research and writing process for paper. Professor Ryoo challenged me and pushed to to success in researching, writing, and presenting a paper for an International conference. I thank him for the opportunity.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Conference organizer Claret Ruane did a wonderful job of pulling the conference together. The study tour of South Korea she arranged was fabulous only too hurried in trying to take everything that South Korea had to offer.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Wonderful accommodations where proved on all legs of the trip. Hotel staff was more than accommodating and gracious.

* Food:

The conference center provide elaborate lunches during the conferences. The study tour exposed us to some delightful local restaurants in the vicinities we had visited. On our own we experienced a few quaint spots.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

In a word 'delightful'. I appreciate experiencing another culture.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

Penn State Altoona, Penn State Risk Management, and the ICBEIT covered any issues that might have arose and we were never in any danger during our stay in South Korea.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? $150.00
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Hotel restaurants and snack bars are extremely expensive. Venture out of your hotel and experience a local restaurant or the corner store for light fare or snacks.
