About

Kyoto embodies the essence of the Japanese spirit. Located on south-central Honshu Island where it is cradled by mountains, Kyoto has been a center for art and culture in Japan for the last twelve centuries. The city's history is long, but Kyoto is at the same time forward-looking and well known in Japan for its new innovations.

This NRCSA Center is very popular and draws students of all ages from around the world. However, because it is subsidized by the government and fees are quite low, programs fill early.
- 4 week July session usually fills by late April or May.
- 6 month term beginning in October fills by April or May.
- 6 month term beginning in April fills by October.
All levels are welcome, beginner to advanced. Many students who complete the Kyoto program go on to work or enter the university in Japan.
