Northwestern College: Muscat - Spring Semester in Oman

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I grew deeper in my faith, while learning about others beliefs. I learned how to become an independent and stronger person because of the smaller size of the program. It provided me with a place to grow and really blossom into who I am today.

Our housing in Manah was amazing. It was a bit difficult with having 3 women sharing one room other than that I can't complain.

* Food:

Amazing being able to have a cook come in once a week to cook us Indian food when we lived in Mutrah. Also in Menah a great experience with having a cook for all three meals.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

Only down side was women be prepared to be stared at... Your a western women and men will look. I never felt in danger, it was just awkward some of the men's reaction to women over there made me feel uncomfortable when I went out alone. Traveling in pairs for women is almost a must.
