What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I learned a lot about the Cameroonian culture, history, people and many languages. I also learned about governmental and economic issues and I was able to put things I had heard about central Africa into context in order to better understand them.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I absolutely loved studying abroad in Cameroon with the Middlebury language program. I felt supported and safe while also having enormous freedom to explore the country and to integrate into society.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

I chose to eat some imported foods that were more expensive than the local foods, hence I spent more money than one could if they only ate local foods

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Eat as much local food as possible (food off the street, from the markets, etc.) as imported food is very expensive.
