I learned a lot more about being independent and gained a lot of empathy for people who live in a language that is not their native tongue. It's hard!

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Don't be afraid to make mistakes--I was so scared when I first arrived of being pegged as a foreigner that I isolated myself, but that's the worst thing you could do!

Comments: The professor was very engaging and knowledgeable, but the class consisted almost exclusively of often lackluster student presentations that didn't really enrich my understanding of the subject matter.

Comments: A super interesting, well-planned out course on the evolution of the german language--by far by favorite part of my study abroad experience!!! Take this course if you have any interest in linguistics.
