There could be more academic work for the content courses. The langauge classes were great.

No clear role distribution. Never sure who to go to for questions. That said, the team was wonderful and supportive.

The mentor program could be strengthened, but it is a good way to get students mixing with locals quickly.

I used 200 JD per month and was able to do everything I wanted without splurging too much on western luxuries.

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Don't go to Western locales and use Facebook to find free or cheap things going on in Amman instead of paying for expensive experiences designed for tourists.

* What do you know now that you wish you knew before going on this program? Amman is a vibrant, active city, but it takes work to find things going on, and if you are not proactive about finding things to do, you may end up very bored.

Craving the most authentic experience possible, perhaps you lived with a host family or really got in good with the locals. You may have felt confined by your program requirements and group excursions. Instead, you'd have preferred to plan your own trips, even skipping class to conduct your own 'field work.'
