Personal Information

How much international exposure did you have prior to this program? 0-2 weeks

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

The grandmothers cooked really good and I loved it. Although I didn't try their seafood, because I don't like it.

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

My family took good care of me when I got sick during the first days.

* Safety:

China is sucha safe country wherever you look at, there's cameras everywhere even on taxis. Also you don't have to worry about being the cash since you can use apps to keep your money safe

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I THINK WHILE I WAS THERE, I COULD HEAL MY HEART AND MIND. THE REASON TO THIS WAS BECAUSE THE FIRST TWO WEEKS AFTER MY ARRIVAL, MY GRANDMOTHER PASSED AWAY AND THANKS TO MY FRIENDS AND HOST FAMILY I COULD HEAL.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Because I had to travel from other city to be able to assist the activities with the other foreigner students like me.

Not including program expenses, about how much money did you spend on food and other expenses each week? Only the first month I used the money I brought, around 1500 rmb
Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? If you live in the same city where the activities are done, then you'll be able to save a little bit of money. Also if you like to shop cloths, either you buy on sales or on TAOBAO (app). Also you can use metro, bus or bicycle instead of taxis.

Language

* Did your program have a foreign language component? Yes
How much did the program encourage you to use the language?

0 = No encouragement, 5 = frequent encouragement to use the language

Since you live with a kid who is learning english you might probably only be able to speak english. But you can speak or try to do it when you are outsite our with the host family

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
How would you rate your language skills at the end of the program? Beginner
What was the highest level language course you had completed prior to departure? Introduction
How many hours per day did you use the language?
Do you have any tips/advice on the best ways to practice the language for future study abroad participants? Meet local friends or just speak to your neighbors
