It was fantastic! I not only learrned alot about Australia but I also learned alot about the U.S.

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The teaching methods were much differnt because the teachers didn't expect the students to show up to class since there were ilectures so all of the lectures were posted online. Also the grading was much different and expectations were different as well. The students were expected to get merely a passing grade rather than getting a really high grade like it is in the states.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Our study abroad coordinator in Australia wasn't very helpful and she would give us information at the last second.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

* Food:

Food was similar to ours but they just tasted differently than ours

* Social & Cultural Integration:

How integrated did you feel with the local culture?

AIFS planned a lot of activities for us such as day trips and a farewell dinner which were amazing.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

I felt very safe living in the village and I also felt safe in Sydney

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? Everything there is very expensive so it is really important to keep track of all the things you buy!! Your money will go fast!

Language

How would you rate your language skills at the beginning of the program? None
If applicable, to what degree did your living situation aid your language acquisition?
