The Center for European Studies (CES) at Maastricht University prides itself on providing the best European study abroad experiences inside & outside the classroom. For more than 20 year CES has been organising comprehensive, English language study abroad programs for international students.

January Programs Includes:


  • International Environmental Law: For students of international law, Maastricht is the perfect setting, located between the ‘European capital’ in Brussels and Amsterdam and The Hague, centres of international law and politics. Maastricht is renowned as the birthplace of the Maastricht Treaty, which established the European Union. Maastricht University is a recognised international European institution with a prestigious Law faculty and dozens of international study programs.


  • International Relations & Politics in the EU: Maastricht is the ‘birthplace’ of the European Union and a symbol of pan-European identity, lying at the southernmost part of the Netherlands between Belgium and Germany. Maastricht University is an internationally renowned research university, with dozens of academic programs in English and focused on internationalism and themes of European integration. You couldn’t pick a better or more beautiful city in which to get to know the EU.


  • Positive Psychology: The Positive Psychology program is a unique experience, following one of the hottest topics in psychology today. As many universities do not yet offer positive psychology courses, this is a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in a cutting edge in the field. Maastricht University is home to an internationally renowned Psychology and Neuroscience faculty and facilities, and is a growing centre of psychology research.
