Great to Experience a Different Culture Past Review

By (Oklahoma State University - Stillwater) - abroad from 02/06/2017 to 06/21/2017 with

Loughborough University: Leicestershire - Direct Enrollment & Exchange

What did you gain/learn from your experience abroad? Was it worthwhile?
I think I just learned a lot about general problem solving because in a different culture, things may be different than you're used to and you have to learn to adapt. Very worthwhile!

Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

The UK's educational system is slightly different, but I had to adjust to when studying. I still learned a lot though and had a good experience.

* Host Country Program Administration

On-site administration of your program

Loughborough staff was always very responsive and helpful.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

Pretty standard university housing

Standard cafeteria food

* Social & Cultural Integration:

UK university culture is very involving and has many different events happening at all times.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

Even as a non-citizen, it is relatively easy to get health care.

Very safe city

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

I have no regrets on the program I chose. It was a great city and university, and I met some great friends.

Finances

* Money: How easily were you able to live on a student's budget?

(1 = not very easy/$200+ on food & personal expenses/week, 2.5 = $100/week, 5 = very easily/minimal cost)

You have to be relatively careful with your money, especially if you plan on taking a lot of trips because they can add up.
