Review Your Program

* Overall educational experience

Academic rigor, intensity, resources, etc.

Without question, LSE provided me with an exceptional educational experience. Not only was I taught by world-renown professors but I also had the opportunity to sit on wide-variety of public speaches given by leading politicians and Nobel-Prize economists such as President Medvedev, Paul Krugman and Ben Bernanke just to name a few.

* Housing:

How satisfied were you with your living arrangements?

I lived in Carr-Saunders following a recommendation from another General Course who went to LSE before me. I highly recommend this hall to anyone who is looking for the 'best bang for the buck'. It is very conviniently located in central London, though you will have to walk for about 20 minutes to get to the School (although this may sound a lot now, once you get to London you will find that this walking time is very optimal). Furthermore, Carr-Saunders has a internal cafeteria that offers evening meals at very reasonable prices. However, the dorm also has very good kitchens in case you are looking to cook. While I was there, they did not have ovens but they promised to install some in the coming years. If you plan to cook and to use the oven often, you might want to check with them.

* Food:

The food in London is very diverse, though at times pricy. I found it very convinient to eat evening meals in my residence hall, Carr-Saunders, and cook lunch. Since I used to go to the School almost on a daily basis, I ate at one of several cafeterias that LSE hosts. The food was good and within the student budget.

* Health Care:

How well were health issues addressed during the program?

* Safety:

LSE is centrally located in London and therefore, the areas around the School and residence halls are very safe. However, you are still expected to take common sense safety measures since you are living in a large city.

If you could do it all over again would you choose the same program? Yes

Principles of Finance

Course Department: FM212
Instructor: N/A
Instruction Language: English
Comments: This yearlong course (and the only introductory finance course at LSE) was very helpful in providing a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of finance. The finance department is very careful to choose a first-class lecturer for this course and I can guarantee you that you will have an exceptional experience if you, too, take it.
Credit Transfer Issues: No, I had no issues.
