A greater understanding of the culture outside of what you see in media. They are surprisingly similar to western cultures, but still very different.

| Do you have any general money-saving tips for future study abroad participants? | Always question if you would spend that much back home. Japan uses coins more than cash so it's very easy to spend more than you think you are. |
